Quick tips for propagating plants
The key for us when propagating is to keep it simple. our goal with this guide is to assist you with adding more plants to your home without breaking the bank!
For this quick how to guide we are sticking specifically to Monstera and Philodendron style plants.
Step 1 - Leaf Cutting
Locate a section of your monstera with at least two leaves and a node present (the little bumps where roots are beginning to grow again). Use a par of sharp gardening snips to cut on an angle below the node.
Step 2 - Rooting
Place cutting in water in a vase or recyclable glass bottle and allow for the plant to grow some roots. This will typically take a month. Keep the plants in indirect sunlight until it it time to pot.
Step 3 - Potting
Once you feel like your roots are long and firm enough, pot them with fresh soil. Keep the soil moist for the next couple of weeks or until a new leaf starts to form (this is to ease the transition from water to soil)
